By any name, they are an important part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Recently the dogs brought along their handlers and put on a demonstration aboard Al Asad Air Base in Iraq’s Al Anbar Province.

K9 unit members Max, an 8-year-old Belgian Malinois and Dutch shepherd mix, and Kaila, a 9-year-old chocolate Labrador retriever, are officially off-duty after a combined seven years of service with the UMass Police Department.
