3/11/12. Last night on Justice with Judge Jeanine, (Fox News Channel) a service dog 'Sergeant Rex' was portrayed as a hero, a 'partner' who had served and been wounded in Afghanistan. He is now being retired and instead of being adopted by his former 'partner' Megan, who want's him, he is facing the death penalty due to red tape. This is an outrage. I am writing you, because the email I tried to send to Lackland AFB would not go through. This country needs to not only treat our human heros better (we owe them so much), but our four-legged heros too. Please help Rex. If possible, let me know if you got this and let if I can do anything more to raise awareness of this. Thank you and God Bless, Nanci

I was recently turned on to this book by a friend of mine, Mike's brother. I can recall the worry yet simultaneous immense pride his family had when he was initially deployed. In the years that followed I heard bits and pieces of the growing and deeply meaningful relationship between Rex and Mike, but was never as clear till now how precious and beautiful it really was.

Amazing story. Amazing love and dedication between them both. Very appreciative of Mike for his previous and continuous contributions and in complete awe of Rex overall.

I am recommending this to everyone. Theirs is a story truly worthy of respect, appreciation and honor. Thank you Mike for sharing this part of both your lives with the world. Thank you Damien, for encouraging him ever so gently to do so.

It's Awesome.

Mike

I am currently reading your book and cannot put it down!
Rex must be a fantastic soldier and dog. I only wish I could meet
Him and you to tell you how much I appreciated your story and service.

I am old man who has loved dogs all my life. I currently have
A German shepherd mix and black lab. Thanks once again for yours and
Rex service.

Mike, thanks for those warm and heartfelt words. I'm not sure I really deserve them. You and Rex are the guys who together walked into the fire every day for six months in Iraq, in the Triangle of Death, saving lives. It's fantastic that your story can be told, and I'm glad I played a part in helping make that possible. Sempter Fidelis, my friend.
