Amazing report bringing awareness of how Pit Bulls can help veterans cope with PTSD. Pit Bulls tend to have a bad reputation when it comes to their temperament but that is only if they are trained incorrectly. They can be incredible companions just like any other breed. Thank you Pit Bulls 4 Patriots for providing such a valuable service to our troops!

I believe pit bulls are one of the best dogs not only for helping vets but also as family dogs. They have, in my experience of owning several, along with a number of my family members been the most loyal, and trustworthy dogs I have known. I also have worked in several jobs caring for pits and other dogs and have not once had an issue with the pits and other “band breads” such as Rottweilers and other larger dogs that so many people fear. I am fully aware that many people believe it is in the pits, and other bully breads to turn on humans or other animals, but if you check their blood line and treat them well than they are no more likely to turn than any other dog is. On average 82.5% of all pittbulls pass their temperament testing to be with families as apposed to 77% of all other breeds.(www.care4paws.org/forpitssake.HTML) I personally believe that the smaller breeds (ankle biters) are the more dangerous as far as attacks on children especially.
I support and believe that this cause is a very good cause and I would love to help in any way I can to bring this about more with our soldiers.

I have both a Pitbull and a Rottweiler. My pitbull is a puppy and the 2nd one I’ve had. His temperment and overall behavior is outstanding. I would never fear him or worry he would attack or hurt anyone, he is an amazing dog and I do certainly believe Pitty’s are a misunderstood and mislabled breed!! I love my Pitty and probably will never own another type of breed. As for my Rottweiler … I do fear him sometimes and don’t understand his temperment, i don’t think he would ever hurt anyone, but sometimes I’m not so sure. So of both my dogs it definitely isn’t my pitty i worry about!!! I’ve recently seen the Pit Boss show about the law in Denver and it breaks my heart that those service dogs for our Vets or any other person with disabilities is having to fight to keep their loyal and helpful service dogs. Pitts are definitely mislabeled and misunderstood and would love to somehow get involved with promoting pitbulls!!
